on 7/9/13, we will be having a meeting at 3510 W 15th Ave, at 10:00am, For Saving Our Generation Youth Academy. If you are retired, military, teacher, therapist, counselor or a citizen that has a desire to see our youths become future leaders. We need you. Please come out and lend your support! Saving Our Generation has partnered with the Gary Police Department, Peace Baptist Church and the Truancy Intervention program (TIP), to provide a preventive intervention program for Gary Public School students, who are a risk of academic failure, due to truancy and oppositional defiant behavior. Saving Our Generation Youth Academy is an Intensive preventive treatment program, servicing at risk youths ages 12 years old to 18 years old. The program is a minimum of 3 months in duration. The program includes military drill and ceremony, physical training, tutoring to fit each cadet’s need, groups, team building, community service and trade training. Saving Our Generation will operate every Saturday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Participants will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the facility. Breakfast and lunch will be served. The participants will be mandated to the program by the court. The program will be staffed by volunteers from the community that has a desire to see our youths grow to be productive citizens and leaders of the future. Volunteers will be former and or present military personnel, teachers, therapists and community leaders. Funding for the program will come from grants, fundraisers and donations.
