on this date in 2005, celebrities from music, television and film banded together to participate in the two-hour NBC telethon to benefit victims of the December 26th, 2004 Tsunami that devastated regions in SouthEast Asia and Eastern Africa. Spearheaded by actor George Clooney, the telecast, dubbed Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope, included appearances by Brad Pitt, Madonna, Halle Berry, Bill OReilly, Ray Romano, Annie Lennox, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder and a host of others.
