one piece :)) CAPTAIN USSOP AND THE NORLAND CONNECTIOn! Usopp7 In this thread we would discuss the theory about Ussop and his connection to the Norland Family Tree. Ussop, as we all know is a troublemaking kid from Syrup Village that was the son of Banchina, her mother and Yassop, Ussop’s father who was one of the top officers of the Red Hair Pirates. Like Roronoa Zoro, Ussop’s backstory is awfully short and was less detailed unlike the rest of the Strawhat crewmembers. This led me to believe that there’s something else to Ussop than him being just a lying, troublemaking kid who decided to be a pirate after meeting Monkey D. Luffy. Throughout the series, Ussop had been shown to be quite a “jack of all trades, master of none” type character when it comes to the minor roles in the ship. Simply said although he is not superb in certain departments, he can do it all. Painting, ship fix, weapon making. That’s until he accidentally realized his natural talent for sniping, and it seems to be implied in the series that he got excellent distance measuring skills and a very sharp vision. Reason why he got appointed as the “sniper” of the crew. Right before the timeskip Ussop also shown interest in botany and in which he became a more plant-based on his arsenal after the 2 year timeskip. And Ussop loves his adventures and when it’s all said and done, when pushed to the wall, he gathers up courage and mans up to his pride. It reminds of one man in the Jaya Arc. And Ussop’s real qualities still remain dormant within him, with all the things I said about Ussop earlier, I think Ussop still has not realized his full potential to trace that he carries the same blood of the man who had the same multi-skilled lineage. Yes, I do believe that Ussop came from the Montblanc lineage. I believe that the hint that Montblanc Norland had been accused as a liar, and Ussop being recognized in Skypiea, Tontatta and soon enough on Elbaf (which I believe would earn him a statues next to Norland) is a proof that he is the next great Montblanc descendant just like Luffy is to the “D” people. Also, it’s always a mystery to me why Ussop, even with his physically weak body got a body with really high endurance and immunity. And I would also like to throw a wild guess that I believe that the Montblanc lineage is a member of the “D” family from the Ancient Kingdom that was destroyed during the Void Century. Why did Ussop never knew of his lineage though? This is just a wild assumption, but the only explanation I can think of is that like Law’s parents, Banchina (Yassop himself instructed Banchina to) probably decided to keep the “D” lineage a secret from Ussop and just use her surname on him or Yassop probably left when Ussop was little and never revealed that thing from Banchina or maybe even Yassop don’t know it.
