oops. Dads birthday was yesterday, which is why his picture is here! He passed away in 2001. A chance to reminice. I am grateful for how his sense of adventure impacted my life. His enterpreneurial involvement with the Aldergrove Rock Festival, dabblings with music promo, fish and chip businesses, AND car trips in his lime green mustang, running for politics, soccer meetings in our home, other eclectic groups of people coming and going in our home - some staying the night, some temporarily living there, some seeking an accepting place to come to. As far as I was concerned-my child eyes saw our home as the happening place- always a-buzz with new and interesting people. A community centre of sorts. Hmmm-I wonder how come I was attracted to the profession that helped me re-create what was lost when our family structure changed? I gave my dad a nickname one day. Buddy Boy. I could see that he was charmed by this new title, so it stuck. Every once in a while, Id use it, and it always brought a big smile to his face. Confession: I may have stolen this from Tigger in Winnie the Pooh.
