open letter to #UHURUTO. #Jubilee came into government with a lot - TopicsExpress

open letter to #UHURUTO. #Jubilee came into government with a lot of pomp and color which heightened expectations amongst Kenyans beyond their supporters. It was the first time that as a country we had the digital age in our grasp with the economy being turned around, children having laptops, cost of living coming down, a united country and indeed Ruto reminded us during the swearing in that after 3 months one would not know the difference between cord and jubilee supporters (sadly today it’s like night and day). The question then has jubilee been able to meet these expectations that they created? A closer look paints a gloomy picture so far; 1.#Laptop- when kibaki in his campaign promised free primary education he did not waste any time in having it implemented and the first week of taking office he went into full drive in ensuring the project was implemented. There were hitches and learning along the way but he kept his eye on the ball. This is in contrast to uhuru who on taking over postponed the implementation of his pet project and leaving himself exposed to the critics of the project and shattering expectation of millions of Kenyans. 2. Cost of living- in their manifesto #uhuruto promised to look into the cost of living with a view of addressing and bringing it down to manageable level. However from the moment they took over the cost of living has been on spiral and rising by the day. New taxes such as VAT, excise duty, have been introduced and this has impacted negatively on the middle and lower class. If anything today this lot of people are poorer than they were under #kibaki. 3. Unifying the country- this is one area they have failed miserably from the day they unveiled their cabinet with 65% of the secretaries coming from their respective communities and appointments in other plum jobs has been purely restricted to their respective communities. In fact one feels there is some tension in the air which reminds me on the build up to #2007election. My prayer is that we don’t walk through that path again Its indeed obvious that the two are struggling to get a grip on moving the country forward and sadly they have now resorted to the old bad ways of looking for scapegoat for failure to address and tackle some of the issues facing Kenyans. Its therefore not surprising when you start hearing people from jubilee claim of dark forces being sponsored to cause anarchy. For those who remember those days it was the lowest moments in Kenya history when the economy grew at negative, freedom of expression was curtailed and anger amongst the masses was at its peak. Creating fear amongst your supporters only worsen the situation its important that you re-evaluate yourselves and design corrective measure.
