page 4 I listened and as I did so I began to shake. My mother had lost her mind. Where was my mom? She knew perfectly well that America was the most powerful nation on earth and that nothing she had said was possible. I mean...sure...I had lived through September 11, 2001. I had seen the death and destruction. I knew...or thought I did...that it would never get any worse. I mean. We had retaliated profoundly leaving absolutely no doubt in the mind of any nation on the face of the earth that we were not to be tread upon! We took on an air of intolerance and initiated unprecedented actions to prevent any other incidents of violence of the type we had witnessed. We got rid of the president who was at fault for not watching over his people appropriately...or ...at least...we thought we did. We had placed an intelligent, powerful, pro-active new president into power who would set things right and change the things which needed to be changed, setting to right all the errors the prior administration had made. Or...at least...we thought we had. Things were so great at first. Promises of change were made. A perfect nation was described and plans seemed to be laid that had needed to be laid for a long time. Health care changes that would make things so much easier for everyone. Oh! The wonderful things that I saw happening for the world that would be mine and my childrens! But there were things that I didnt know... Or maybe I just ignored them allowing myself to be pulled into the world that I saw as perfect. How I wish now that I had picked up my Bible more often and really read, read and re-read all the things that Jesus had said about this world and how it would not be perfect. That there would be an entity who would be a master of deceit who would attack the world until the end of the age with every weapon at his disposal... Just the kind of thing that my mom had told me about. Just the kind of thing I had laughed at and ridiculed her for having said. Many things have changed in the country that I was born in. That place that I have called home and which hold so many wonderful memories for me.
