The stories revived in 1991 with reports ranging from New Jersey to Chicago. TV shows and movies like Stephen King’s It may have contributed to the revival of this legend. Also, this legend is sometimes compared to John Wayne Gacey, who murdered 33 boys near Chicago during the late 1970s. He was known to entertain children and at times wear a clown suit. This urban legend spread all across the United States as well as in Great Britain. I also read the people would see the van vanish into thin air.
