The science notes from here Magnetizing of magnetic substances the process of making a magnetic substance to become a magnet is termed "MAGNETIZATION ",there three main processes involved with one fo the three sub-divided into two procedures Types of magnetizations, the types include; 1. Stroking method 2.induction methods and 3.electricall method. Induction method this is the process of making a magnetic substance to become a magnet by bringing it near a permanent magnet for some time. Stroking method two main types of procedures could be used to obtain the same results and they are 1. Single stroke and 2.Double stroke method Single method; with this process ,a bar of the magnetic substance is stroked along is length with a permanent magnet in a given direction for a period of time,after the bar has been stroked ,it would be seen that the end of the bar magnet at which the permanent magnet is raised is at polarity opposite that of the permanent magnet that was used,,,, see page 578 of Aki-ola series note ;,, only part of the end of the magnetzied magnets will be ,thus the polarity of the bar magnetic substance which is beng magnetized will be slightly shifted. Double stroke method the magnetic material is stroked from the centre to the ens with unlike poles of two magnets simultaneously which is done repeatedly,also see the same page for daigrams please .when the process is finished,one end of the magnetized magnets will become a south pole and and a north pole ,,
