please do not let the simplicity of the explanation belie the seriousness of trauma and the necessity of the healing. if the trauma is not healed or processed when it should be immediately after the treat is over it stays in the subconscious and affects the organism in ways that are described as ptss post traumatic stress syndrome a series of symptoms commonly exhibited by trauma survivors the syndrome being a perfectly normaql display of symptoms given the trauma. symptoms which if accesed on their own and in absence of the understanding of the person having experienced trauma are diagnosed as something else. in fact with regard to ptss is still that misdiagnosis is the rule and that proper diagnoses is the exception, because there is as yet no assessment for csa or ptss and it is easy to take a single symptom and diagnose the sufferer. and since the psychiatric community is set up to make quick diagnoses dont you know pshycaharitsts are soooo smart and prescribe medication this is not likely to change the system is set up to ignore ptss. the system is stacked against Psychology and in favor of Psychiatry quick high priced diagnoses and prescription to keep the sufferer quite.
