IISc, airport, Vidhana Soudha also facing terror threat: Home minister KJ George Bangalore: Two of the top IT firms in Bangalore, three malls, a hotel chain and some US multinational companies based in the city are under terrorist threat, according to information provided by home minister KJ George in the Assembly on Tuesday.Wipro and Infosys, Garuda, Forum and Central malls and hotels of the Taj group were among the targets, according to intelligence reports, the home minister informed Sunil Kumar V (BJP) in reply to an unstarred question.Among other high profile targets were Vidhana Soudha, Kempegowda International Airport, Infosys, Wipro, Indian Institute of Science, High Court, Bangalore and Yeshwanthpur railway stations and bus stations are on the terror radar, the minister said. Wipro and Infosys centers in Mysore and Mangalore too were on the list.He said the Palace in Mysore, Brindavan Gardens and Tippu Palace in Srirangapatna, airport and railway station in Mangalore, Sri Krishna temple in Udupi, Almatti dam in Bijapur, Kaiga Atomic Power Station in Karwar and Tungabhadra power plant in Bellary were also under terrorist threat.Among the steps taken to counter the threat were the setting up of the internal security division on Dec 12, 2008 and the Karnataka State Security Force in 2011, the minister stated. The personnel of Karnataka Security Force would be deployed at important industrial establishments. In case of terror attack, the government has made arrangements for Centre for Counter Terrorism as a standby, the minister said.He said the governor, chief minister, ministers, high court judges and some elected representatives were also on the hitlist.
