poppy continues to do amazingly well , her sutures have been removed and the wounds have healed very well, there is a small open wound where her tail was but its healing , would be better if she stopped licking it thou ,shes sleeping so much which is good for her, pee & poop seems to be fine and everyday there is more anal tone coming back but i think the broken pelvis sometimes causes her a bit of discomfort to go to the toilet, she has completed her medication & is now on no pain relief, we are continuing to monitor her thou, she enjoys her short walks but wants to pull like mad nothing changed there ,poppy has lost a lot of weight about 4kg and is very thin but her appetite for food has not changed, the rustle of a bag or opening of the fridge door still gets her undivided attention, she will have some more x rays done in a couple of weeks to see how the pelvis is healing, her face breaks my heart when we go upstairs and she sits at the gate crying as if to say dont leave me alone. Holly often lays with her in the cage its like she can sense poppy is not right and wants to be with her, yesterday they were staring at one another and almost started to play but i had to stop them , i think poppy feels at times there is nothing wrong with her. Were both amazed at how well shes doing & feel very lucky to still have her as part of our family, before this happened I always said there was something special about poppy , she has that special twinkle in her eye & the proudest walk shes such a loving hound & in Linda Scotts words the most expressive face, its been an emotional few weeks as you all know, were so happy we had a wonderful team of vets who looked after her and brought her back from the 20% chance they gave her on the Sunday after the accident, and we are now happy & thankful that we gave her every chance to fight for her life. Id like to thank everyone who sent well wishes for poppy & support for ourselves & a special thank you to Sheila Hurcombe for all the work she did for our poppy
