pressdemocrat/article/20130617/ARTICLES/130619617 A wind-driven brush fire that has engulfed eight buildings and spread over 25 to 30 acres on rural property northwest of Petaluma has forced authorities to order evacuations in the area. The three-alarm fire was reported about 3:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Thompson Lane, between Skillman Lane and Magnolia Avenue. Evacuations have been ordered from Skillman Lane in the north to Magnolia Avenue in the south, and from Thompson Lane on east to Marshall Avenue on the west side, according to scanner reports. Ranch structures and outbuildings have been destroyed in the blaze, which appears to be spreading eastward, driven by strong westerly winds of at least 30 mph. Local and state firefighting resources, including air tankers, have been dispatched from a wide area of south Sonoma County and Marin County. --Brett Wilkison
