prisoners have been tried and charged with a criminal offense, they can be rehabilitated and released back into the community..not into a war zone.. or into the arms of a vengeful regime...they know when they can get out, they have visits from family and lawyers... prisons do not consist of cells that are tents, hardly able to resist the humidity of the tropics. Prisoners get an opportunity to work for a small allowance that they can use when released, prisoners get a chance to do advanced training courses...
