Inviting deep contact with others closed, shut down, and separated from us requires a willingness to stay compassionate, courageous, and vulnerable throughout the invitation to reconnect to loving presence. This is relevant to all of us choosing to be in relationship with others. Its not just about Alzheimers. This relates to reestablishing safety and trust in relationship with loved ones who feel badly hurt and triggered, abused and fearful animals, and children. As this gorgeous woman can hold such space with this women such that deep contact could be made, we can all hold space for our family and friends in a way such that we can be open, honest, and tender with each other as we take turns moving through subtle pain and deep trauma. We are the ground and love for each other when one gets lost. This is our responsibility to each other. It is our responsibility to not get lost in our pain when another is triggered in theres. When folks become withdrawn, either because of disease or emotional wounding, this can trigger our own abandonment issues that can be so hard to hold space with. But lean in. We need each other.
