Please continue to keep this sweet girl in your prayers. thank you!!! from Trio Animal Foundation: Today marks the 5th week that Hazel Grace has been hospitalized for burns that fully covered her belly and parts of her back. Her infection has improved and a fresh layer of skin continues to fill in on her belly. While thick scabs have formed on her side and back, the new regimen of antibiotics has helped her continue to fight the terrible infection she was suffering from last week. Hazel Grace will continue to be hospitalized since the skin on her belly is so incredibly thin and fragile that a slight tear would be catastrophic in terms of her recovery. Just recently, Hazel Graces medical team has added slow walks to her therapy schedule to help with the elasticity of the skin along her inner thighs and legs. Barring no other infections, it is estimated that in about 6 weeks time, Hazel Graces belly should be healed. After speaking with both of Hazel Graces doctors today and reviewing the healing pattern/depths of her wounds... they were confident in saying that she must have been held directly over a flame. I say this to remind the people pursuing her legal case that this was no accident. We will continue to keep you updated on Hazel Graces progress and ask that you continue to keep our sad little pup in your thoughts and prayers... she still has a long road ahead of her.
