re.. Raw Stripped Back Talent Without the Stage LIghts....was talking on sunday after my gig to a performer from the old school a veteran of jazz stage & film making whod rocked up to watch my last set on recommendation from a mutual musical friend about stage setting... how ive seen people whove been on UK TV in BIG shows with expensive stage settings behind them for TV screen & backed by big band.. & then seen them peform in very much less glam venues/stages performing with backing tracks on a fairly dire stage and how the effect is sooooooo different... the presentation of the act and the dressing that goes around it makes such a differnce to the perception of the audience about the performers, its when you see a performer in a raw, basic setting with basic backing, but they still make an impression that you recognise real true talent ... stick joe bloggs who sings on the karaoke nights once a year on his birthday down the pub up on a glam stage with glam costume and glam band / dancers behind them and band etc. and the audience will think theyre being treated to somebody special .. Stripped back thats when you see it if its there... swhy i love this performance here, cos its stripped back, but is.. truly, simply beautiful (does it for me anyway.. been wanting to cover this song for ages and ages.. ) ...youtube/watch?v=yhhDOPPfAyM
