respect isn’t necessarily about the person who is receiving it. - TopicsExpress

respect isn’t necessarily about the person who is receiving it. It is about our own character, which is reflected by our treatment of others. It doesn’t matter what that person may have done, or whether or not you respect them as a person. The important thing is to be the bigger person and continue to treat everyone with the upmost respect. I’ve always viewed respect as something you’ve earned, or something you had to work for. But, respect is something that people should inherently deserve, and something people should unconditionally give. So the next time you come into contact with someone who you may not exactly respect, try to refrain from expressing that. You see, if you want to express your emotions in a positive way, change the situation into something you refuse to be dragged down by. Showing everyone respect, whether they deserve it or not, allows you to uphold your dignity and best represent your character. -Lessons Learned In Life
