ronnie paige i loved being pregnant i was excited about thanksgiving early that morning when my water broke huge flakes of snow started falling the wind picked up my contractions grew hard and fast we drove through howling wind and heavy snow and lightning and thunder it was a blizzard going down hoover hill it was too dangerous to slow down or stop so with mouths open we watched the headlights of a car slide off the narrow road then disappear headed towards the ravine at the owensboro hospital on thursday november 23rd 1950 at 2:18pm on thanksgiving day you were born ronnie paige i was so happy as you took your first drink of milk from my breast i heard your dad down the hall yell with joy he was so excited to have a new baby boy we were so happy back then they kept you at the hospital for a week when you had a baby greta render whitehead from MAMA a work in progress by Greta Render and Ron Whitehead Copyright (c) 2014 Ron Whitehead
