*see it. choose it. create it. enjoy it.* I saw the sea temple yesterday that drew me to Bali: Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. Ulun means heart, Danu means lake. This Temple is dedicated to the Goddess of the lake. The lake supplies water to the rice fields so is considered very holy. The picture with all the water is the original picture I saw. The other 2 were taken yesterday. I admit: I had a flashing moment of disappointment because the water levels werent as high during our visit than they were in the image. So the temple didnt appear like it was floating on water. And then I opened up to what this new fresh-right-before-my-eyes experience was. I reminded myself how that which I ask for doesnt always show up like I think it will, yet when I can receive what IS, its pretty phenomenal. Thats when I slowed down and tuned in more fully. The temple was being prepared for ceremonies in 2 days time to celebrate its birthday. Women were gathering in one area creating more penjors (tall bamboo poles wrapped with decorations; a symbol of devotion and prosperity; these are seen below in the pictures I took). The temple itself had yellow and white umbrellas placed all around (symbols of purity and holiness; protection from negative energy). And there were post-cremation ceremonies going on in another part of the temple: people gathering to pray and clear the karma for their deceased loved ones. There were piles of offerings being made and as each wave of ceremony completed, wed see the women and men dressed in their finest move away from the temple, carrying their offerings (which would now be enjoyed by the family) with dried rice on their 3rd eye. We stepped through a doorway into an open green area by the lake. I was hit with the quiet of the place and took time to commune with the lake. Silence. Presence. Opening. Visions of visits to other places high in the mountains with lakes and quiet like this flashed through me. Expanding. Receiving. Suksama. Thank you. *see it. choose it. create it. enjoy it.*
