sent to me in email: Gary, The Kubrick Masterpiece blu-ray box set arrived in the mail on Friday. Very disappointing: the disks are identical to the current blu-rays of each of those 8 films. Even the titles are splash screens are identical. Same extras and everything. As an ardent Kubrick fan, I had to double-dip and take the risk. But Im a bit pissed that there was no upgrade in doing so. Yeah, its a little nice having the set in a handy-dandy cool looking box. But I imagine most Kubrick aficionados like myself already own most, if not all, of Kubricks films on blu-ray. Unless one is totally new to blu-ray itself, I cant imagine who the target audience is for this set, if not to prey on stupid suckers such as myself. As for the two new Kubrick documentaries: yeah, theyre cool, but they dont justify dropping $140 for somethings you already own and at the exact same quality. This kind of predatory marketing has got to stop. Let the buyer beware! Erik
