so, I guess I should say that this happened. . .I received this letter via email a couple of days ago - Dear John, I’m absolutely delighted to say that the proposal for the book on Steppenwolf was approved at our recent publishing meeting. People felt this was an incredibly important book and agreed with me that you are the ideal author for it. There was a lot of discussion and excitement around it, which I’m not surprised by, but it was good to see. As I mentioned before, the plan would be to publish the book within our Theatre Makers series, which aims to bring together the voices of key theatre practitioners and companies both through re-issuing our backlist and commissioning new frontlist titles. Therefore, the documentation of Steppenwolf’s work and working methods, as well as the presence of multiple voices, will be central to this book, as well as a clear sense of how they have influenced, and been influenced by, contemporary theatre in the US. As per most of the other new books in this series, we plan to publish the book in hardback first and then it’s very likely to come out in paperback the following year, though it’ll be the library sales we’ll be looking to capture in the first year.
