...so I just got back from Kasikornbank trying to change my phone number for cyberbanking OTP. I thought this was gonna be easy in and out visit, but it ends up being a drama again.. They would not take my driving license as a valid ID. So this is how the rest went.. Pok: Why cant you use this driving license? My ID is so old you cant even see my face on it, thats why i dont carry it, Kbank: I am sorry this is a standard policy, we only accept national ID for this procedures. Its the type of document I have on your record. Pok: Yes but every policy must have a reason behind it, why can you take an ID and not the driving license when they are both official document issued by the government and have same information on them!!! Plus my ID is so old you cant even see my face on it!! While you can see my face perfectly fine on my driving licence!! grrr Kbank: I am sorry sir. Pok: Can I talk to your manager, or someone who can give me some explanation!! If you can come up with a rule or follow it, you must be able to explain it!! If you cannot explain the logic this to me, I will insist on using my driving license!! Kbank: (face turning red and turns to her colleague next to her to consult) Please wait a moment sir. Kbank2: Sir you can only use your ID Pok: Yes she already told me that.. i am asking for explanation. There must be an explanation you can give me. I am willing to accept this if you give me some explanation. Kbank1: let me call the HQ Pok: Ill call my wisdom center. Long story short, i had repeat the same conversation with call center, but got the conclusion that.......are you ready???, The national ID is linked Civil Registration but the driving ID (with national ID number on it) is not!. And the the Govt. department that issue the national ID is more credible than the one issuing driving license....... I was speechless at this point and hung up after I realised the much Bigger problem..
