so i had the opportunity to ask a question of the police force about response times this is what they said: Comment From dayle w why in my experience does it take on average 10 - 15 minutes for you to respond to a 999 call Hi Dayle W, thanks for your question. The Police in England and Wales have target times to respond to immediate graded incidents within 15 minutes. West Midlands performs well in relation to this target and this is replicated here on Birmingham South. This target is paramount as it is vital that we get to people when they need us most. The officers are deployed to arrive as quickly and safely as possible. Sometimes this is just within 15 minutes but many times it is quicker. Comment From dayle w so fifteen minutes is an appropriate time to respond to a stabbing and such no wonder so many crimes go unsolved how can fifteen minutes be deemed appropriate EMERGENCY response? Thank you dayle w. The response is as quickly and safely as possible and at the latest within 15 minutes. These are nationally agreed targets that we work towards. When reports such as a stabbing come in it is every officers natural instinct to want to get to the location as quickly as safely possible to help the victim and capture the offender. Hope this helps.
