so, yeah I am not a PETA fan but this is pretty true. I have seen in the last few weeks friends breeding dogs and friends buying dogs. It breaks my heart. I see their preferred breeds of dogs die in shelters every day. There is no shortage. I get that people like the look of a certain breed or type of dog - but there are TONS of rescue organizations that are breed specific - because pure bred dogs get dumped in shelters for all the same reasons mutts do. Think your dog is exempt from being part of the problem because your breeder only sends dogs to good homes ? or is a nice person ? wrong.. Consider this - there are no health or temperament guarentees in life . EVER. The idea of a GUARANTEE on a life is insane to me - what makes you think that any living thing that comes into this earth has a guarantee of a healthy life and happy temperament ? Do you ask your doctor to guarantee that your baby will be healthy and not cry ? bah.. If your breeding for fun or buying a pure bred puppy - ok then, can you tell me, What were the sire and dams OFA/MU, ED & HD Grades, ECR, CERF, TGAA and Pennhip grades and whether or not youve done the DNA tests for DM ? If you dont know what any of that means, then you have no business breeding or buying. So if this pisses you off- good. Stop the cycle. Put me out of my endless rants. for gods sake spay and neuter your animals
