some further background for anyone wanting to portray a vet in our units group 76 men were well respected veterans of the revolution. Not all became officers, and there are documented 76 men who signed as privates in the militias. for those wanting a closer veteran experience, the 1st US legion was raised, quartered and operated out of Pittsburgh. predominantly light infantry and NCO led small unit tactics. The legions became the 1st,2nd, 3rd and 4th US regiments in 1796. Whiskey Rebellion was in 1794, and Washington led militias and Legion units...the operations encompassed Hagerstown, Cumberland and SW PA. remember if your a veteran, you do not need heroics or battle memories and your portrayal is somewhere in his late 40s to 50s.
