somebody wrote an open letter to AKA and this is it reads.... Open letter to AKA: From Anon...... Dear AKA This letter to me is pointless, it wont pay my bills, it wont get me Boity and wont improve Zumas English but as a fan of hip hop I believe I should vent. I have witnessed different eras of South African hip hop, from H20(amanzimtoti), the reign of Skwata Kamp, the Reason from Optical Illusion, the skinny and ghetto Prokid, the rule of Motswako, the snorbish but rather appealing Jozi crew and the more commercialized and Kwaito sounding hip hop era that we are in. In all these years Ive never came across a rapper that is as irritating as you, as cocky as you, and most of all, as bored as you. I wont take anything away from you, you work really hard, and your music has mass appeal but youre wrong. South African hip hop isnt at its current state because of your efforts, thats Industry blasphemy, and thats highly disrespectful to other artists who are pulling their weight, AKeezus huh? Thats like saying South Africa is at its current state because of Zuma, there were a series of events, activists and rappers before you, but then again who knows, the way youre acting one whod swear that you are Zumas bastard. You forget that you are in South Africa, we dont have a broad hip hop market, not everyone has an iPhone or a computer to buy your album on iTunes, and you know well that people dont buy CDs anymore, your last album sold 6000 copies I thought you wouldve at least learnt your lesson. With that said, you need to humble yourself, not beg, but be likable, or youll be the next L-Tido. Right now you making good music but you making it hard for a regular joe like me to like you enough to support you. Humble yourself or uzolamba clever!!! On Twitter, you exhaust a lot of people, are you an orphan? Why do you like attention so much? Its not that people are hating on you, you are the one thats luring all that hate towards yourself. You have a few awards now you think youre the Kanye West of South Africa, that time your gf is a dark skinned dj and none of your singles and albums sold gold(at least). Hhayi brika bhova!!! And lastly, learn from the greats, KO, Khuli, HHP, theyve been in the game longer than you and their albums did well and they are still relevant. Yeah, every rapper has an ego, when youre good youre good, but youre overly conceited for nothing, you havent achieved that much in the business. Heres a thing about fame, its comes and goes quick, so dont make us be happy when your demise arrives, we want to miss you one day when you have faded, right now? We cant wait to see your downfall. Yours truly
