someone borrowed my book and then nonchalantly handed it back to me, like, no big deal. your book is just totally ruined. who cares. it makes my heart hurt to look at the book. she apologized for damaging it, and offered to buy me a new copy, but then refused to buy me for unacceptable reason. this was the first time someone has ever undemonstrated some level of book borrowing etiquette. im just stunned at the gall people have sometimes. thing like that is one of many reasons that really make me lose faith in humanity.
