*steps on soapbox* In light of the referendum, or indictment on the current administration that occurred yesterday across the country, Id like to draw your attention to this (4-part) interview. In it, I feel that Jon Stewart hit the nail on the head. While we all know which side of the political spectrum he rests on, Id like you to focus on another, more important theme that is touched upon throughout. The conflict between Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives, Tea Party and Progressives, whatever, is valid and should exist. However, it shouldnt be *the* conflict in our country. Rather, the focus in politics should be to root out corruption, and have honest representatives, regardless of preferred political ideologies. This back and forth between two parties whose main focus is to make the other look bad is ridiculous and unproductive. So, while the pendulum has swung yet again, I fear that in the end it will be moot. The first step to making a difference is to stop being so short-sighted. *steps off of soapbox*
