#teamKAKAAKI: •Eniola Opeyemi writes teachers on their day “I urge all our teachers to please lend their voices, you need not to be silent to the nations development, Yes, the President of this nation, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR is a teacher, you need not leave him there, rather he needs your advises and teachings” ~ Eniola Opeyemi See full note below: OH, MY TEACHER(S). A note to teachers as they celebrate their day. Oh, my teachers, You are so special that you belong to the caliber of the saints, like Jesus, Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W), and so on, you have taught / teaching a nation a way to go, but you earn less dividends or earn less value as ever anticipated. What you didnt teach are the things we seem to learn and it is fast destroying us, you dont have to relent as you can still make the corrections as you do in class after marking class - works, assignment, home work etc. According to the scriptures: “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.” ~ Matthew 10:24 “Whoever is given wisdom and knowledge is blessed with bounties in good abundance”.~ (Surah al-Baqarah, 2:272) Your teachings should not end in class or after graduation, you should continue to guide our path when we become President, Governors, Senators, Honourables, Managers, teachers, Lecturers, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Counselors and so on. Our teachers, please dont loose your voice to the development of our country, though, some of your former pupils, students might be more influential but still you are the more important because there is that one teacher that no matter how rich or powerful you are, you will be willing to respect their voice. The Prophet (S.A.W.), says: “It is obligatory for every Muslim to acquire knowledge. Allah likes those who seek knowledge”. ~ Usulul Kafi, p.15 And has stated above, teachers gives knowledge than any other, the bible states: “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”~Titus 2:7-8 As today goes, I urge all our teachers to please lend their voices, you need not to be silent to the nations development, Yes, the President of this nation, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR is a teacher, you need not leave him there, rather he needs your advises and teachings. The Senate President, the Speaker, Governors and other administrators needs you. “Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you.” ~ Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Talib (A.S) I would have loved to continue writing but let me say this to the administrators that show less concern to our teachers; “You Build a teacher, you Build a nation”. HAPPY TEACHERS DAY Best wishes, ENIOLA OPEYEMI writes from, LAGOS.
