that thing where you leave your phone in your purse for a few hours because youre having a lovely meal and conversation and engaging with real people in real time and then you realize when you turn it back on that you have seventeen unread emails and you realize that it seems like lately you never have anything fewer than seventeen emails to deal with and you really do love the internet and it really is an incredible and amazing thing and of course you are grateful that it has changed the world at large and your own life in a very specific and personal way but every now and again you also secretly wish it would just break for a couple of days and everybody could just take a minute to, like, go outside and look at some clouds and trees and sky and shit instead.
