the day after christmas reflection at christmas, we celebrate the gift of jesus... we celebrate life! as the angels sang at his birth... GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST... and PEACE TO HIS PEOPLE ON EARTH! on this day, too, with pope francis... we pray that this celebration of the birth of the redeemer may bring peace and hope to all people of goodwill! 4 weeks of advent... 9 early morning misa de gallo long weeks of preparation... dressing the tree... putting the trimmings... hanging the parol... & all! it was quite a long day yesterday. the midnight christmas mass the night before and the noche buena that followed with tables overflowing with food & drinks and which flowed still the day after! for the many... it was either the mass at dawn... mass in the morning... or any of the masses during the day! then... the most awaited part among the children... the exchanging of gifts! indeed... today... as at christmas every year to commemorate the birth of the savior of the world... we share joy... peace... love! for LOVE is born on christmas! families and friends gather... and share the merriment of the season... and focus their attention on the reason of the celebration... the word made flesh... god became man... jesus entered into our human family and lived in history! children anticipate the exchanging of gifts for christmas is about children and about gift giving and receiving! the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes ... he was born unto us... he was given us! he is gods greatest gift to us! the euphoria of christmas is dying out now... quick and fast! it will soon be new year... and life goes on! back to work... back to school... back to the routine! but the spirit of jesus continues to live on... yes... he has come down to us as the EMMANUEL... god is with us! and everyday of our lives... he knocks at the door of our heart! let us let him in... as we did yesterday, today and tomorrow... and for ALWAYS! thanks for the gifts, the greetings and the well wishes! ill keep them in my heart... god loves you... i love you, too!
