the demand for Gorkhaland is not a demand for separation from India. It is a demand for the formation of a separate state within the constitution of India. The land that has been projected as the proposed state of Gorkhaland were never a part of India, but rather, it was a hotly contested geographical area between the three traditional kingdoms of Sikkim, Bhutan, and Nepal. The govt of india forcefully incorporated it into the territory of West Bengal, and bengal started showing its colours right from the very beginning.....its just a place for relaxation and a destination"for a change of mood" for all the tourists and all they care about is tour packages...... and now on top of that the state is now showing its power by trying to cut off the all the cable lines and have threatened to cut off electricity and telephone lines as well............ is this how the state treats its citizens?????/
