the good news is: i dont have meningitis. i didnt have a stroke. it took more than 50 years to get me in an ambulance. my head did not explode. see, after three days of rest, gingerale , etc., for what i assumed was food poisoning, i was beginning to feel quite a bit better. but last night after sorting and posting pictures from our trip to yosemite, i powered down the computer, stood up, and had a very sudden, scary setback to this illness that developed within hours of arriving home. i experienced a sudden onset excruciating headache. never. never. never. has my head hurt that bad before - each pulse was a sledgehammer inside my brain! the medical professionals who treated me reported that a new virus has been observed that leaves the host feeling as though their head is going to explode. yikes. and damn. well, after 4 attempts, an IV port was eventually installed in a vein that didnt blow out. meds were pushed. and after 7 hours of unbelievable pain, the pounding began to subside. whoa.
