the latest on Carter: Dearest Friends, The Lord sustains him on his sickbed: in his illness you restore him to full health -Psalm 41:3 The Lumbar drain was inserted in a bedside procedure on Monday afternoon. The fluid was subsequently drained at a specific amount every hour thereafter. By Wednesday we found that virtually all of the swelling had left Carters head and the CT scan showed the same. Carter did show increased signs of being in pain however the Neurological team felt that although it was a good sign that he was feeling pain by Wednesday it was time to stop the drain and remove the catheter from his back. The current plan is to take another CT Scan on Monday. Please join us in prayer that Carters body will appropriately handle the fluid and that he will not need a shunt.
