the man many people including myself have looked up to over the past year has had his freedom taken from his hands. On September 15th, he kicked ass during a surgery to remove his prostate and lymph nodes. On the 22nd, he was released from the hospital and went home. 3 days later, coach went back to the hospital feeling major pains. On the 27th of September, Coach Paul Byrne went into cardiac arrest where his heart stopped beating. Although the doctors did restart his heart, that short period of time caused damage to his kidneys, liver, and brain. Since then, his liver and kidneys have healed, and he has started to breath on his own. Unfortunately, areas of his brain have not healed, and its unsure how much more progress its possible for him to make. His wife and someone Ive learned to call a friend over these past few hard months, needs us now. Coach, Carolyn, and Becca his 9 year old daughter, need to be back home. Although I know our team has become a family to coach, I do personally believe Newfoundland will be a better place for the family. Flying back a patient in his state is extremely expensive, so I am asking if anyone can donate, it would be extremely appreciated. Every bit helps, and I know he would do the same for any of us.
