the other day I took my wife to the museum of natural history for the first time. We really enjoyed it thanks to my mom giving us tickets.. we were in the African peoples area and were examining the Africa/Slavery section (which was extremely small). What was interesting was that on one side... it discussed the importation of Africans into the Americas... across from that wall was the section on slavery after importation..now to an educated mind... one who knows and understands what nationality is.... the ignorance and deception is clearly visible. One one hand we have people being kidnapped and labled as "Africans" and on the other hand we have people who are property labeled " Blacks/Negroes"(which the word is really one and the same thing). There was no identifier nor name of where these people came from... however, in history almost every group of people studied have an identifier to their culture, name, etc.... all execpt those who were brought to the Americas.... You see my point? African is a general, connotative identifier in the ENGLISH language.. Its like saying an European or Asian... however whats interesting is when you speak to people from these areas (tourist, immigrants, etc) they never claim those names as their identifier..ofcourse until they become assimilated... they will always correct you with either their national or tribal identity.. and though skin color and even culture can connect people together to one another ... that does not necessarily mean they are who you say they are.... People need to wake up. As much as I love the museum... I finally saw it for what it was... a controlled environment for the miseducation of people.... lastly.. what was interesting that a card on slavery... made it clear that slavery was not an "African" concept but serfdom was... it also showed the word slavery as "slavery" when discussing it from the "african" perspecitive... meaning that the concept is not nor was ever known in the African world, as the word has connotatively been associated with in a general sense. that word belongs to a specific people in which the etymology derived from the NATIONALITY or TRIBAL identity... And this one little paragraph also reveals that if SERFDOM was an "african" principal.... then how did the european tribes learn Feudalism? We can find the symbol of the Fleur De Lise in Africa way before we can find its use amongst the Germanic tribal monarchs.
