the point is not to be surprised by individual acts of anti black racism, such the one we witnessed in cape town with the white man who casually and randomly decided to assault a black woman nje. we need to know and expect these sorts of attacks on blacks because they are organized and legalized by institutional racism. South Africa is an anti black country managed by the ANC, and white people correctly believe themselves to be superior to black people(this is a fact not just an idea they have of about us). this will remain true till we end white supremacy(which means we must first defeat the ANC which is the body guards at the gate preventing us from dealing with white racism). but, what do we do between now and then and at individual level? the best response to individual acts of racism is to make the white racist pay for touching or insulting black people, they must pay there and there, so that others learn that if you touch a black person, there shall be hell to pay. so we gotta fight at two fronts, struggle to end white supremacy as a system of power (Institutionalised racism) and also individual acts of anti black racism. because of power imbalances, we must also be ready to face massive consequences whenever we decide to defend ourselves(you will lose your job, you go to jail, you will be physically harmed). thats the price to pay for demanding freedom and dignity and we are prepared to pay for our liberty thats the only way. asijiki!
