the rapid militarization of U.S. law enforcement agencies and departments is a SERIOUS concern. Even for people who are convinced that it cant happen here (it being totalitarianism) should err on the side of concern when considering recent cases. It is hard to imagine any of the Founding Fathers condoning what we are starting to see in more and more American neighborhoods. Indeed, if given a crystal ball and shown the world we inhabit today, they could be forgiven for imagining that the British had WON the war for independence and that the American states have remained an occupied colony, policed by occupiers who considered citizens as their enemies. I hate the phrase Wake Up, Sheeple, and I would never presume that anyone reading this is, in any way, sheepish. But I do think we all need to carefully consider what we see is happening, NOT make excuses about how much pressure the cops are under (anyone who wishes to make that argument, please recall what caused the Ferguson situation in the first place) and recognize that something profoundly worrisome is taking place before our eyes.
