the reason for going where we did yesteday was because I wanted to visit a couple places I have been reading about. I have been going through the history of my hometown and the people that had a saying in its progress. One of them was a little girl named UTA. she was the daughter of a DUKE that owed ALL the forest that is now the Black Forest and her life was anything but great. she devoted herself to the church and became somewhat of a recluse. she founded several Cloisters and lived in them , mostly in solitude. Two of them I visited yesterday and I imagined how, in 1100 AD she lived her life in such a place and in the middle of just trees and nature. the first one was Kloster Reichenbach. It was a Fortress/Prison/ Monestary. the Abby was run by Monks that pretty much were the law in the region and had the means to protect the little princess from Calw. She was ony 13 when her parents MADE her marry the count Welsh I , whose parents owned the neighboring woodlands. she never lived with him and had no children, which made the line of the Dukes of Calw die out and their land was returned back to the dutchy of Wuerttemberg. she died sometime around 1197 and her burial place is not known...Utas life is a mystery that has spell bound me for some time know, and I thought by going to the places she lived at, it would help me understand her a little better...She has Lived and still does in the woods of the Black Forest, which is where I come from and always will call HOME!
