the typical, everyday story here in hawaii. nobody knows anything, they forgot, they lost it. years ago their was a story on the news about a woman who took a ring worth $20,000+ a a jewleres shot and they lost it. Kihei in Maui. the usual, dont care, whatta gunna do. all the cops will do is take a report, maybe. so sick of horrible ppl. liars will not inherit the kingdom of God. i used to think that was kinda harsh, but liars are such pigs ive come to see. lies can go so deep. This is the post from CL: So i had some stuff and rather than try to flog it on CL I thought to try this consignment store. EEEEEKS!!! The first thing I noticed was the all too high and mighty attitude of all the people who worked there. They were all women who acted like it was their time of ...well....you know what. They talked down to me and treated me like I was a homeless person trying to sell stolen goods. Why I left it is still a mystery to me but I did. The first thing I noticed was that the commission they said i was going to get went out the window. So much for that 30-40% it was more like 10%. I guess they assumed I was also stupid and wouldnt check to see what they were selling items for. I asked for an accounting which is on their computer but was denied with a look like I had just asked them for their first born. (or violated some privacy act) Then when I decided to reclaim what was left all of it wasnt somehow there. I offered to let them pay me for the missing items which neither me or any of the staff could find anywhere in the store and I said if they paid me I would leave it with them and not come back to bother them but although it appears they lost it or sold it without record I was told they would not pay me for it either. So I was not only ripped off on commissions but I was ripped off when they lost my goods and refused to pay for lost items saying their store was not responsible for them. All this was after I was warned by my friend she had the same experience. I thought she was exaggerating. It seems however to be common practice. So anyone who buys there is also enabling this attitude and helping the owners and staff to cheat customers who drop off consignment items.
