the uzbekistan trip has by far been one of the most exciting, yet - TopicsExpress

the uzbekistan trip has by far been one of the most exciting, yet humbling journeys. when we made the decision to go there, there were doubts and questions. and rightfully so, thinking of the 5 and 2 yr olds tagging along. thruout the 10 day journey, one day topped the previous, and so on. but the most unforgettable experience came in the form of short and brief moments interacting with the locals. when asked qiblah? kaabah? solat? prayer?, we were met with lost looks. 90% are Muslims and most cant read Arabic, let alone understand the Quran. it is sad. but considering how Uzbek was part of Russia for almost 150 years, it was probably not that big a shock. Uzbek needs a generation of change, like how our parents were a generation of change. Bite on the Quran and Sunnah with your molar teeth. If there was ever a time I felt so close to this phrase, was during the time I was at Uzbek.
