there are two elements to this story that I find shocking. First the suggestion that it happens to so many people. If thats true then there is definitely a case for more Police. Second, that bystanders just turn away. I would like to believe that if I saw this happening that not only would I step in to stop it, but that I would publicly and very loudly proclaim that this man is a pervert, in the hope that the shame would prevent him doing it again. I would also do this as I want the woman or girl who is victim to know that they can feel safe when men are nearby, as most of us are not perverts. It would also be easy for me as a man to say why doesnt the girl or woman just tell him to stop being a perve but that would miss the fact that a female would be feeling threatened and vulnerable, which is why the pervert does it. It must then fall to the bystanders, who by turning away should be regarded as being just as guilty of the offence as the perpetrator. Would they not hope that someone would step in if it was their wife or daughter being molested in this way?
