there are two persons who had shared their roles in the development of my career or i would not have made any progress at all.one is mr yen and the other is albert. mrs yen came to my small shop a few years ago,paying a few thousand to buy bird nest,and then she asked :is that all you have?and before long came the chinese new year,again she came,paying 10 thousand to buy more.again she asked:is that all you have?this is another way to say that my business was small.the following year i brought a big bunch to her office and told her husband:this thing can be a big help to the one who is using it.he replied quickly:this thing can not be any help to anybody at all except for the sake of lavish display.he put it in hokkien:jia pai tao. meanwhile he stretched out his hand to pour me a cup of tea.this is how a rich man handles his routine:nothing is so serious about. a few months later i brought a bigger bunch to him and said:this is for you to jia pai tao. he replied quickly:not merely a matter of jia pai tao, it really does some help to the one who is using it.i realized a rich man must quickly take a different stand when someone is trying to give him one.then he started a puff of smoke into the air,and felt that there was always a reason to smoke when the thing really helped. his loyalty to bird nest gives me a great deal of help financially.until today i still can not find someone to replace him. albert led an entire delegation to my office two years ago to see if something could be done to bring the production of clean bird nest to the fore.and i gestured that it was worth a try only when there was a speed breakthrough that could produce three times faster than the normal one.he even had in mind to recruit 200 people from the start,although i preferred only 20.this is to show that a rich man always matches his ambition. the plan carried out anyway with 30 strong people,but before long i realized that i did not bring home the bacon,in fact,i even sought an abrupt withdrawal from the entire undertaking to avoid greater humiliation subsequently.and the reason for that was the speed-production backfired. the nest were torn,twisted,diminished as a result of unskilled work.i realized that the task was crying for skill instead of speed.perhaps speed is the product of skill,and skill is never the product of speed.as the damage began to increase each day,there was a cause for alarm.finally i hoped that the work could come to a halt to avoid further damage.of course,it was a matter of time to put things right,but it was not an excuse,for the time i needed could be unbearable. i gave up the job in some way was a relief,for i could find a solution to the problem when i was free.i began to work on it day and night,never before so laboriously for that one whole year,until i came to feel that it was possible for one single person to accomplish a work which normally required 20 people to do. albert is not the one to blame in this matter,for he is an entrepreneur.he promised to spend millions to see the thing work,and he did.this is to show when a rich man says a word,he keeps it. he has a strong desire for work,and he shows it sincerely.he helps me to be aware of my shortcomings.until today i still can not find someone to replace him.
