things to be grateful for when you wake up to a partially flooded backyard and basement because your sprinkler system decided to esplode: 1.) your obese cat who tried to jump onto the window sill, andgot his foot caught in the mini blinds and tore the blinds down of your husbands office window several months ago, leaving it bare 2.) procrastination-had I not been putting off getting new blinds for Chirss office window for the past 4 months, he probably wouldnt have glanced out his window and noticed the yard bubbling with water 3.) all the towels that gave their lives to help us out this morning 4.) your husbands side gig cleaning rich peoples hot tubs---we had a submersible pump! yay! 5.) the water in the basement flooding the best possible areas of the basement...nothing was damaged but a $12 box of shipping tubes. AND despite the water pouring in from the window well, with a box full of brand new prints below it, NONE of the prints got a drop of water on them, but everything around them was soaked. 6.) teamwork. Chris Fellure and I make a great team! I (AMAZINGLY) stayed calm (so did he, but calm is normal for him...and not so normal for me) and I used no cuss words! WHAT? Those who know me well, know this is probably the most amazing part of the story. 7.) We were home when it happened! with our crazy October and November traveling schedule, this could easily have happened while we were out of town, and we could have come home to cat turds floating in the kitchen. but it did not. I have absolutely nothing to complain about here. Grateful and Blessed. AND, now I know how to use the water pump!
