this graph is biased, people do not understand that the president does not control the budget, he is supposed to submit a budget and the house works on it and comes up with a solution and the senate has to pass it and then the president has to sign it. These need to be done in a timely manner (which has not happened in at least 6 years). If you were to break this graph down to who had control of congress (House of Reps and the senate) you will see who the real culprits are. Note under Clinton, the dip in the debt is when Newt Gingrich and the GOP took over the house. Under bush 2, we had 911 happen and a war voted and approved by all of the congress. The big increase under bush 2 is when pelosi and the DNC had control of the house and the senate. the little curtail toward the top of Obama is when the GOP took control of the house and fought tooth and nail to trim the budget.
