this is what Im talking about people, this right here. This is why sometimes your opinion doesnt matter. A lot of us artist get this now, we understand it; sometimes its about race but it cant be like that in hip hop, we should shut that shit out. Without Def Jam, Rick ruben & Beastie Boys, Hip Hop wouldnt be where its at, where we can actually live off this. Make enough to feed yourself, your family & community. When music with a message hits the surface, they want to label it selling out, when music with substance reaches a bigger platform they want to label it selling out & label it pop, but pop music is just popular music, that means Biggie & Tupac was pop music, the good shit is getting to the people. We should be embracing this shit but just like in hip hop, we gotta be negative & shit. Im done, i just cant believe sometimes how weve came so far but it feels like were taking steps backwards. Our culture broke colors lines & were the youngest genre. Hip hop, i still love her, do you? Thank you Macklemore & Kendrick Lamar.
