Check out the state title team tribute at: jimreagan.net/index.html November 28, 1972 3A state semifinals Capitol Hill Stadium Game Summary: It was the defense that led the way for Southeast who claimed its first trip to the state football finals since 1960. The Indians single wing offense was effectively throttled finishing the night with just 86 yards on 43 attempts. In all, E Reno managed just 121 yards in total offense and just one first down in the second half. Offensively, the Spartans once again relied on the running of Joe Solomon and Larry Moore. SE scored in the second period on a five play 51-yard drive capped by Moore’s 4 yard run. The game stayed 7-0 until the final period. A Jeff Brown interception with 2:33 remaining set Southeast up at the Indian 33. A couple of plays later a reverse hand off from Moore to Solomon ended up covering 21 yards for the decisive second touchdown. Southeast would finish with 282 yards in total offense including 187 on the ground.
