thoughts are still with my moncton buddies ...... i made a comment last night on a cbc photo about mental illness and the lack of proper services at younger ages (mid 20s is when most who have been untreated loose that one last marble leading to incidents like this) and well some took at me as if i was the shooter himself ........ alot of mental health patients are very much anti authority (rcmp, etc) and high on weaponry, killing etc, im sorry but mentally healthy people simply do not go on shooting rampages, i am not trying to excuse what he is doing at all what so ever, he does need to be stopped, but lets face it hes killed 3 officers and injured countless others, hes automatically gonna be facing a life sentence but life is only 25 years, thatll put him somewhere around the age of 50, still a young man, 25 years in prison is only going to make him more cold, more heartless, and more apt to kill again, whereas if he had to serve those same 25 years in a locked down mental health facility he is going to get diagnosed and properly medicated, hes going to stabalize and learn how to live with whatever disorder hes dealing with, he wont ever be normal obviously but he might learn how to exercise some self control.
