thru the smoke filled canyons of m y mind i recall 40 years ago when Harvey milk, rick slick, pablo heising and myself started the Castro Street fair. its mission was to get harvey elected to the board of supervisors and to bring our community together. the hurdles place in front of us were over come thanks to Pablo, rick slick, in the entertainment, had Silvestor on the main stage my restaurant called the Island on 16th and sanchez as its sponsor. All are gone leaving me as the survivor of small group of friends wanting a better world. In their wake we did make a difference bigger than we could have imagined back then 40 years ago. what an endless summer living here in san francisco where all things are possible. keeping the dream alive dennis peron
