tl;dr listen to: Banda Magda - Sabia (world, below), Leonard Cohen - Nevermind (Baroque Pop), Goat - Hide From the Sun (Psych), Terry Malts - Let You In (garage), Foxes in Fiction - Shadows Song (low-fi) Holy schnikes what a day for album releases! Tweedy and Leonard Cohen Both!! (The Tweedy album was slightly disappointing if only because I hold him to such a high standard, Cohens song Nevermind tops a great album) Aphex Twin drops their first platter since 2001 and yes its good. Alt-J let loose their strong sophomore effort. King Tuffs new album is my favorite by them to date. Goat stepped it up as well with their new disc. Terry Malts EP led by Let You In is worth listening to. Theres Pitchfork darlings Perfume Genius and Mr Twin Sister who both have deservedly high ranked albums. Julian Casablancas, Sondre Lerche, and Imelda May all released more of what they do, listen if you like their previous releases. I love The Growlers but their new album could have been better. The Drums? Sure why not, I Cant Pretend is a good tune though the rest of the album is lacking. Gary Clark Jr.s live album may not be new material but still good. ...and for the more pop inclined out there, Lady Gagas thing with Tony Bennett, Jennifer Hudson, Lenny Kravitz and the little bastard John Mellencamp all have albums, though I cant suggest listening to any of them (JHUD doesnt completely suck). While I may not, my friends who like Shoegaze will enjoy the Whirr album. However dispite all those Im going with Banda Magdas new album Yerakina as my favorite of the day. I mean how can you go wrong with 9 songs, 5 languages, 36 musicians.
